Bloom came to us from a hoarding situation. We don’t know her back story before then but she is a very sociable and friendly girl with people and dogs.
She’s a sweet, smart girl with a loving happy personality who would thrive in a home with or without human kids and another dog of any age. She loves being around other dogs and does really well socially. She’s also wonderful with cats and has a great sense of their energy. She knows when it’s okay to say hello and when to give them space, showing her awareness and adaptability around other animals.
She loves being around people and happily follows you from room to room, but she also enjoys taking herself in and out of the yard to sunbathe, showing that she’s confident and independent when she has access to the outdoors. Once she gets to know you, she’s very affectionate and loves to check out what you’re up to.
She’s not food protective, but she’s very treat-motivated, which makes her easy to train. She already knows how to sit and wait patiently before her food is served, and she also sits nicely for treats. She enjoys long-lasting chews and understands the word “no.” She hasn’t chewed on anything she shouldn’t. She’s a very smart girl.
She’s a great potty communicator. She’ll go to the door and wait or gently scratch when she needs to go out. Once she figured out how to use the doggy doors, she started taking herself in and out confidently. With that newfound independence, she’s been doing exceptionally well and takes herself out to potty throughout the day. We can confidently say she’s fully potty trained, especially with the independence the dog doors provide.
She’s generally quiet with just the occasional bark, which is normal. For a small dog, she’s surprisingly not yappy. Her foster was even able to put her in a small shoulder bag and take her into the pet store to grab a couple of treats. She was so cute, just looking around quietly, so she has very good manners in that department.
