Canela is a sweet, cuddly friend who knows how to win you over with her adorable face. She is playful and has recently discovered toys! She also plays great with other pups her size and loves to walk (though she does pull on her leash). She can be a bit timid around new people, and she’s hesitant around men in particular. But she’s also very attuned to her surroundings and will let you know when someone is approaching or there’s movement outside. And she’s ready with a tail wag for the people she knows and loves.
She does let you know when she needs to go potty, but if you mistake her sign as needing pets/attention, she might go on the floor. She has really taken to pee pads though, and she goes potty outside well! She’s anxious when her people leave the house (will bark and cry for the first few weeks) and does seem comforted having another dog in her space with her. She doesn’t love the crate and would prefer to roam free, but she can be calmed and will sleep in her crate if needed.
She is quick to bolt out the door and a bit anxious in cars, so keeping a good leash on her will keep her safe. Her favorite thing is a scratch on the chest (less so on the top of her head, which makes her a bit skittish). For a work-from-home situation, she’ll be your shadow in the room, content to be in her bed or on a nearby soft surface. She will kiss you A LOT if you’re watching TV and not giving her adequate attention.
