Sweet Chewy needs to feel safe. She has no reason in her life to date to feel safe as she was bred into the meat industry in South Korea and then she was abandoned to fend for herself at the Hanam site. She is doing everything she can to feel safe and grounded. Connecting with other dogs helps her.
This gorgeous girl was one of 200 dogs rescued from this grisly situation and we are happy to welcome her to L.A.
Despite her beginnings Chewy, like those who came here before her, will be a loving and beloved family pet. She will probably due best in a home with another dog.
We are looking for a foster-to-adopt family for Chewy so we can bring her here from Korea. Fostering to adopt doesn’t mean you are obligated to adopt, but it does mean the Korean dogs will have a potential home to go to upon arrival.”
Because Chewy is just learning to trust humans, an ideal situation would be a house with a secure yard, and another friendly/confident dog to show her the ropes of being a pet. She needs to learn how to trust humans and we want her to start on the best foot possible. Therefore, a home with no young children would be best for now as many timid dogs can be frightened of small children who don’t yet know how to respect their space.
