Coco is a rescue from the Korean meat trade. She was found pregnant under horrible conditions with other starving and dead dogs. She is coming around pretty well and able to live inside the home with other dogs. Coco is good at sharing food and toys, she is a little skittish around new humans but getting used to being touched and allows people to touch her on her head, snout, and back already.
She is a Korean Jindo/Shiba Inu/German Shepherd mix according to the Korean rescuers who did a DNA test on her.
She is best for a home with a very secure back yard and another confident dog so she can get used to the sounds, smells, and sights of her new world. She is wee wee pad trained until she can be confident enough to be walked outside on the streets and start being introduced to the outside world in the yard on a leash.
Foster update: Coco is sweet as can be but EXTREMELY fearful. we are working on leash walking as she gets very scared to go on walks. She’s afraid of the elevator and tries to run when other people/ cars come by. If we find a quiet area to walk with no cars/people she does very well. I double leash her and readjust her harness before every walk.
At home she likes to stay mostly in the crate but is starting to explore more and more. She’s allowing me to pet her but hunches down. (Coco spent her life in a cage so she feels safe in her crate, but she will gradually trust that she’s going to be out in the world.).
