Corks is in search of a strong and confident person that will continuously give him boundaries and structure. He should be in an adult only home, with someone that has experience with medium to large dogs who is able to give him lots of stability. He has been through a lot so it takes him a while to warm up to new people. He does best when ignored and allowed to be the one to approach the new person on his terms in a calm environment (and with high value treats). He is a bit selective of who he trusts but once he bonds and trusts a person he is sweet, friendly and lovable.
It’s hard to say if his trust issues with people will improve, so his person needs to always use caution with strangers both on the street, as well as introductions to any people that come inside the home. Corks is actually really good on leash though and doesn’t react to dogs (even if they react to him) and will walk by people with no issue so long as long as he is ignored. One thing Corks wont ignore is FOOD. He will jump on the stove, countertops and tables while someone is eating in hopes to snag a bite so he needs some boundaries and guidance around this to avoid food aggression developing.
