Meet Gramps, who’s anything but an old man! He came to Dogs Without Borders when his human sadly passed away. Gramps is very young at heart and loves to run, play, and roll over, and over and over! While he may act like a puppy sometimes, Gramps has very upstanding manners and is mostly housebroken (almost perfect), barely barks, doesn’t chew on anything but his toys, and responds when you tell him “no”. He loves his squeak toys, walking and hiking (he sometimes gets a burst of energy and goes into a little jog while on walks because he’s so excited) and really loves his food! He walks well on a leash and wants to say hi to everyone who approaches but does get a little nervous around bigger dogs while on leash.
Gramps is popular with the neighbor kids and they love to pick him up and hold him like a baby (which works out great for him, too). He has lived in households both with and without dogs, and seems to like men and women equally. Not sure how he is with cats but he is never threatening while on walks and doesn’t race after squirrels or birds.
He’s a great eater and finishes all his food and will sit for treats. Although he’s bursting with energy he also knows how to calm down and sit quietly when it’s not play time, and always sleeps through the night without making a peep. He can be left in the house alone without being crated although he’d like you to come back soon — and you’ll get the best greeting of your life when you do!
Gramps is a champion tail-wagger and overall happy guy who is just a joy to be around!
