This gorgeous girl is “one of the best dogs I’ve ever met” according to her foster parent. Hera was found abandoned alone in the desert, completely emaciated and defeated. She was so thin and weak that it wasn’t know until a few short weeks later that she was pregnant. Despite the fact the people had let her down she was still so open to give and accept love, she was able to put on weight quickly and gave birth to 8 healthy puppies! She was such a good mama and raised all her puppies well, now it’s time for her to find her forever home.

Hera’s foster parent of nine weeks says that she is an absolute love bug, full of devotion and kisses. She is house broken, submissive, loves a crate, walks well on a leash and gets along well with other dogs- we don’t know about cats. She could use a refresher course in basic training and does get anxious when she is left alone. But she’s eager to please and a happy, happy girl. She will talk to you on occasion in the cutest way, loves to play tug a war, go on walks, chase balls and loves to chill with her people. She is a medium to low energy girl who happily lays next to you while you work- a loyal and loving companion. She does need some training on the leash as she will occasionally lunge at other dogs. She has loud bark and needs work greeting people, as she can be overly excited with new people and invade their space. The truth is that she really just wants to love all over people and because she’s a big pitty girl it can be a bit overwhelming for people. She would be best with older kids vs too little.
