Hooray! This dog has been adopted!
Sweet Nutmeg just finished weaning her puppies and is now ready for her own forever home. She is a 1 year old, dachshund/chi mix, she was a great mama to her 4 pups and is ready for a home of her own. She seems to be more on the timid side so would likely do best in a quieter home with no small children.
Foster Update: Nuteg now is totally thrilled about going on walks–she seems quite athletic, to be honest–she chews bones and plays with toys and chases squirrels. Most especially, she gets the zoomies at least once a day out of sheer joy and enjoys chasing her foster’s brother around our apartment during play–she’s incredibly fast–and even barked a few times out of excitement. She is very loving and would make a great companion for a single person or a couple.
Foster update: Nutmeg is a very shy girl, but when she trusts you, she blossoms into an adorable little weirdo who just wants to be pet and loved all day. When she is no longer fearful, she is excited when you come home, excited to go with you on walks, and if you’re lucky, you may catch her scampering around like a little speedster when she feels joy. The key with her is gentle kindness. Nutmeg is very easy to take care of; she’s house-trained, and quiet. Shy/timid with new people and dogs. Loves belly rubs and physical touch in general.
