Rudy is a very chill dog who loves outside, loves to lounge, and wants to be near his person all day. He LOVES to be outside; when not outside, he likes to sleep in front of the screen door looking outside and will take any chance he sees to try and go outside (so watch him near a door). Otherwise, he follows his person everywhere and when he can’t follow you he heads to his crate which seems to be his safe space. He does have a hard time getting out of his crate in the morning (due to his arthritis); we think because he’s stiff from not moving much all night. However, once he warms up, he gets along just fine. However, we would recommend a household without stairs to help him get around and also… he actually seems very fearful of staircases and will run from them. He has been known to bark at them. He’s mostly house trained, an he tolerates being bathed
He is good with other dogs; he doesn’t care much about them at all. We’ve only heard him bark once when the puppy got too in his face (and hey, we would bark too). He’s also fine with strangers and doesn’t growl at all. He’s very good with kids and loves the attention (he’s been around children ages 4+); we would just suggest children that understand his boundaries and that he has a bad leg so he must be held and handled gently and carefully.
