Volunteer Application

Thank you for volunteering with Dogs Without Borders. In order to protect our organization and our rescued animals, we ask that you sign this waiver.

Rescue animals are by their nature unpredictable in behaviour. Dogs Without Borders does not know, nor can it reasonably investigate, the behaviour of every dog it rescues and it with which you may have contact. Accordingly you, as a volunteer you agree to the following conditions:

1. I hereby expressly agree to assume the risk of personal injury in the course of my volunteer work with Dogs Without Borders, no matter how caused, including such injury that may occur due to dog bites, scratches, communicable diseases or pests. I also agree to hold Dogs Without Borders, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and Galit Ruben forever harmless for any injury whatsoever that I may suffer as a result of my volunteer activities with Dogs Without Borders.
2. I agree that any animal rescued by Dogs Without Borders is solely owned by and is property of Dogs Without Borders. As a volunteer of this organization I will not withhold, sell, or give away any animal entrusted to me by the organization.
3. I will not rescue any animal as a stray or a shelter in the name of Dogs Without Borders without prior authorization from a director, officer or employee of the organization.
4. Disclaimer: During your volunteering with DWB, you may have access to confidential, proprietary, and/or trade secret information belonging to the Organization. You agree that you will keep all of this information strictly confidential and refrain from using it for your own purposes or from disclosing it to anyone outside the Organization. In addition, you agree that, upon conclusion of your volunteering period, you will immediately return to the Organization all of its property, equipment, and documents, including electronically stored information.

Thank you very much for your time and efforts to help dogs find homes! Remember, when we host adoption events, we are guests at the location so there are rules that need to be followed.

1. Only group heads are allowed in the office
2. Please, NO personal dogs! We want to keep our focus on the dogs that need homes.
3. Food, drinks and other personal property may not be left on any surfaces, shelves or freezers. Please store all personal belongings in the bin under the adoption table.
4. Animals are not allowed on food, nor products. This includes resting, sitting and sleeping.
5. Volunteers must be courteous and helpful to store customers (Tailwaggers and Petsmart) and respectful of requests from location employees and mangers.
6. Please offer assistance to customers reaching into the dog pens, and leashes MUST be on dogs, AT ALL TIMES, when being shown outside of the pen.
7. No customer may walk any dog without leaving their keys and/or their phone with volunteers. Items are placed in appropriate keys bin.
8. No animals who are unvaccinated, intact, sick, infected, injured, or nursing should be present.
9. DWB and volunteers must clean up ALL rescue/adoption waste upon it's happening. Please use appropriate, sealed dog bag, and dispose in provided DWB trash receptacle.
10. Please allow extra time to find parking and still arrive on time. There is NO PARKING in the TAILWAGGERS LOT. **Transporters may park TEMPORARILY for drop off/pick up.
11. Lastly, please make sure that the area is clean and swept before DWB leaves.

During your volunteering with DWB, you may have access to confidential, proprietary, and/or trade secret information belonging to the Organization.
